ACCS announced yesterday that classes would begin Monday, February 9 at 8:15am. 

Students in grades first through third will attend school at the Morgantown Baptist Church,  grade four will be at First Baptist Church, grades five and six will attend Parkway Baptist Church, grades seven and eight will attend Immanuel Baptist Church and grades nine through twelve will attend classes at the Washington Baptist Church. 

Parents must provide transportation for students and lunches must be brought by the students.

A total of 726 students have now registered and will begin classes Monday morning.

The Administrator for the school is Joe Hill and Chairman of the board is James Thompson.  Other board members are Bobby O’Quinn, A. McDonald, Lester Ray, Dr. C. C. Miller, Robert Hensley, Harvey Beach, and Bill Riley.

Joe Hill, Director of Education of the Adams County Christian School, released a complete faculty list.  He said the faculty listed below, would serve for the 1969-1970 school year. 

Hill also announced that the student body has voted on the school colors and a mascot.  The official colors of the school will now be blue and gray and the mascot will be the “Rebels”.  He added that an athletic program will be started as soon as possible.

The Adams County Christian School has announced that registration for the 1970-1971 school year will be held April 9 through 14.  Joe Hill explained that tuition would be changed from the figure used last year and that the following tuition changes would be made:

High School- $530 per nine months of school.

Elementary School (Grades one through eight)- $380 per nine months of school.

Kindergarten- $15 per month for each child.

Family Plan– In consideration of large families, a declining tuition scale is offered:

First two children– full tuition.  Third child- $100 reduced from full tuition.  Fourth child- $200 reduced from full tuition.  Fifth child- $300 reduction from full tuition.  Sixth child or over– free. 

A resolution legally organizing the proposed Adams County Christian School, formerly the Adams County Baptist Private School, will be voted upon in most of the sixteen Baptist Churches of Adams County today.

A spokesman for the proposed Baptist sponsored private school said church ratification today by congregations would give the green light to the school which is scheduled to open in the near future.

The Adams County Christian School announced yesterday that a total of 586 students have registered to attend classes for the fall term of 1970. 

The figure, released yesterday, is likely to show some increase, according to school officials, in the next month or two. 

Registration figures indicate a maximum of 63 students registered in the tenth grade, the largest number for an individual grade in the system.

The Adams County Christian School announced yesterday that a school baseball team has been formed with Bobby Collins the coach.

In the announcement, the private school said 22 boys reported during the organization period, and the team, known as the “Rebels” will be practicing each afternoon from three until six o’clock.

Woodville Academy handed Adams County Christian School their first athletic loss in the history of the new school here yesterday afternoon, taking a 3-0 baseball decision.

For the young Rebels, it was their first diamond game of the year but coaches Bobby Collins and Virgil Kiser had nothing but praise for the Adams County based private school athletes. 

Joe Hill, Director of Education of the Adams County Christian School, announced yesterday that there are a small number of 0penings in some select grades and classes of the school.

The school officials have set a September 8 target date for opening and individuals desiring to register their children for these openings should contact the school office in the Morgantown Baptist Church.  The final section of the sides of the building were erected earlier this week and interior work is advancing at a rapid pace.  Officials said during the announcement that they expect to have the school ready for classes by September 8.
